From wltx.xom: Lakeland, Florida (WTSP) – Lakeland, Florida - The Polk County Sheriff's office released the video of a teenage girl who, as Sheriff Grady Judd puts it, was "lured so her friends could beat her." The video shows what Judd says is the second of five beatings the 16-year-old received from people she knew. The attackers say they were upset with so-called "trash talk" the victim posted on her MySpace page, and they say they wanted to post their own video of the beating on MySpace and YouTube. The sheriff says the victim was first beaten unconscious in a bedroom. When she awoke, she was on a couch in the living room, where the screaming and beatings continued. "It is disgusting that the attackers find it funny and want to post something on the Internet showing someone nearly beaten to death," says the victim's mother. Sheriff Judd is calling it one of the most disturbing videos he has seen in a long time and he hopes all those arrested will be tried as adults. They face charges ranging from felony battery, false imprisonment to kidnapping. The sheriff says the attackers "were relentless." Even though those involved could face prison time, Judd says the teens showed no remorse after their arrests. "When they were in a holding cell, they were all laughing," Judd says. "One of the teens arrested, who is a cheerleader, asked, 'Does this mean I'm going to miss cheerleading practice tomorrow?' The others were cutting up and said, 'It looks like we won't be going to the beach this weekend.'" While the attackers can laugh off the incident, the victim's mother certainly can't. "You never think it will happen to your family," she says. "To have this happen and see it... is hard to bear." These girls are sick, twisted and pathetic. Girls these days are PATHETIC. I wish I could say that I can't believe these days that kids (girls especially) are this pathetic, however, I can't say that with any seriousness. Anyone who has seen this video tape knows that this is not uncommon or new. Kids are out of control. Recently there was another incident when a 17 yr old girl ran away from home. Her father found her that day and dragged her by the T-shirt to the car. He's up for charges of assault. Over the last few years a number of these incidents have taken place. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!? I don't believe, I REFUSE to believe that all or even MOST of America is like this. It's hard to believe sometimes, when you see these kinds of things going on. The same people, the LIBERALS who want to "protect the children" promote these acts. Post videos of attacks on 12 yr old girls by a GANG of weak individuals. Charge fathers with assault who rescue their daughters from the streets. Let's touch on the responsibilities of the parents with regard to those wacko girls in Lakeland Florida. The mother of one of the monsters who attacked the girl, in fact, the girl who allowed the attack to happen in her home and taped the attack has come out in support of her brat. She says that her daughter "warned the girl not to go inside" and "gave the tape to the police"(after posting it on You Tube of course). I dare, I defy, I call on ALL of the parents of these brats, and their little punk daughters to sit down with me and have a face to face. I want fathers, mothers, and the brats in a room with me. They all need a piece of the mind of someone who has a clue. They've shirked their responsibilities as parents. I'm the first to say that parents have a right to raise their children their own way, however, this proves that these parents have not done their job as parents. Now, I know that I'm small time, that these brats and their parents likely won't even see this, nor would any of them have the stones to sit down and sit through the verbal assault I could take them through. I'm a bit hypocritical I suppose because my beating with words alone would be worse than the beating they gave this poor girl, but oh how I would enjoy seeing them cry. Watch this video, see it with your own eyes. Let it play out, hear the girl who allowed this to happen in her own house asking them to watch out for the shelves.(which by the way, the girl being beaten should have ripped down) Watch this poor defenseless girl(or one of the many others on the internet) getting jumped and beaten. Then tell me that this is what we want our children to be. This girl, who had apparently been trashing someone on Myspace, is being beaten down by a group of brats. Maybe she shouldn't have said anything about these girls, but how does that give these jerk offs the right to attack her? One of the attackers mothers actually says that she shouldn't have run her mouth. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! You're insane if you think this way. Now, in my opinion, girls shouldn't be fighting AT ALL period, but certainly not like this. I understand boys fighting, but even boys being jumped sickens me. It's time to start holding these kids and their parents accountable for their actions. They should all be charged for various crimes. The girls for assault and attempted murder, and the parents for conspiracy to these crimes and a crime of facilitating a criminal act.

My information is from a Bank of America insider who wishes to remain anonymous due to their work within the company. On April 19th Bank of America is going to begin a new “repricing” strategy with regards to customer interest rates. I’ve done some research and none of this seems illegal, but I question the morality of the “repricing” strategy. The repricing strategy will raise the rates of accounts who combine two defaults in any combination of Late Payments or over limits within a 12 month period. This strategy would reprice the offending accounts by adding the highest prime rate within the last 90 days (i.e. If highest prime rate is 9% and offending account interest rate is 11%, the repriced rate would be 20%). On the whole, this doesn’t sound like a bad plan until you take into account the standard practices of the bank which generally result in infractions of these types. Bank of America routinely sends out mailings with checks, vouchers or special interest rates to card holders who are approaching their limits. The bank also monitors card holder credit reports and looks for other cards or debts being paid. Bank of America will lower the card holders limit if they see other debts being paid, causing the account to go over limit. Currently the bank will send out an Opt out letter to the customer which gives them the right to opt out of their repricing if the customer replies or calls within 30 days. Once this repricing strategy takes effect the bank will only give the customer 5 days from the date the letter is created, not mailed or received to reply. The typical time frame for a letter to leave Bank of America’s outprocessing department and be mailed is 3 days. If you consider that some of these mailings must go across the country and are not sent overnight, I wonder how we can consider the timeframe fair. This is not Bank of America’s first step into the obscenely unfair and questionable practices. Last year Bank of America profits rose nearly 30%. The banks’ CEO Ken Lewis received a $56 million dollar bonus. Employees within the company did not receive their traditional yearly bonus. Even as a conservative I have to question the ethics involved all over with this particular bank.
